Fit for a Goddess
Tompkins County Public Library invites the public to view its new exhibit, Fit for a Goddess, beginning July 2 and running through August 25, 2021.
Fit for a Goddess, curated by Maude Rith, is an interpretation of TCPL’s 2020-2021 exhibit theme of “myth.” The exhibit, the Library’s first since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, celebrates this season of growth and renewal and centers on the female energies of love, wisdom, and creation. Fit for a Goddess is devoted to the fantastic, the extraordinary, and the wearable in fabric, thread, and canvas. Artists included in the show are Regina DeMauro, Persephone Doliner, Saundra Elizabeth Goodman, Jill Hoffmann, Leann Kanda, In Shik Lee, Noa Tia, and Rebecca Woodie.
“I am so glad to see this exhibit come together,” said curator Rith. “I’ve enjoyed working with the artists. Their ideas, energy and the details of their work have been great. I hope they inspire viewers.”
Rith would also like to thank Wendy Skinner of SewGreen and Ronnise Way of the Mary Durham Boutique for their knowledge and generous loan of dress forms.
Patrons are welcome to view Fit for a Goddess in the Avenue of the Friends during TCPL’s open hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 8:00 pm; Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm; and Saturday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
